Meet the Team at Pimpama City Vet

Our Veterinarians

Pimpama City Vet - Dr Kate Heathwood

Dr Kate Heathwood

Senior Veterinarian BVSc

Kate graduated from the University of Queensland in 2013.  She started her career working in our Canungra clinic as a mixed practice vet and after 4 and a half years, she left us for a brief stint to work at the University Teaching Clinic in Dayboro, QLD (her home town).

In early 2021 she returned to our practice to become the lead veterinarian at our Pimpama City clinic where she now enjoys working as a small animal clinician.

In her free time Kate enjoys camping, target shooting and spending time with her partner Justin and their menagerie of animals – 2 dogs, a cat, 2 birds and 3 fish!

Pimpama City Vet - Dr Kim Unwin

Dr Kim Unwin

Veterinarian BVSc

Kim joined our team at the beginning of 2021 after graduating from James Cook University. Kim enjoys both internal medicine and performing surgery, and has plans to pursue further medical accreditations throughout her career. While Kim loves all her patients she has a real soft spot for cats.

Kim is based at our Yarrabilba Hospital but also does regular days at Tamborine Mountain and Pimpama City when needed.
When not at work Kim can usually be found at her local CrossFit gym, getting coffee with friends or at home spoiling her two cats.

Our Support Staff

Pimpama City Vet - Sarah Brook

Sarah Brook

Head Receptionist

Sarah joined our Pimpama City clinic in 2020 having obtained her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2018. Initially working as an Equine nurse she made the move to small animal practice and currently works as our senior receptionist helping out the nursing team when required.

Sarah enjoys all aspects of her role, especially the puppy cuddles and supporting all of our amazing Pimpama clients.

When she isn’t at work she can usually be found spending time with her family and her maniac naughty Golden Retriever Fisher.

Pimpama City Vet - Kylie Graf

Kylie Graf

Receptionist

Kylie’s lifelong passion for animals saw her join the animal care profession in 2019 when she started working as a kennel attendant in a busy veterinary emergency clinic. Having gained a Certificate II in Animal Studies, Kylie then moved to a reception role. She joined our practice group in 2021 where she initially worked at the Tamborine Mountain clinic before being asked to join the team at Pimpama City.

Kylie is soon to commence study towards her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and is excited to get involved behind the scenes in the hospital with patient care. She has 2 dogs, both Border Collie x Husky, and spends her down time out on adventures with them.
